The title says it all, really. I’m guessing that widgets, little applications of HTML and javascript, are the SDK target here. I’d be happy to be wrong and have it be a full application SDK, but who knows? Maybe the entire interface of the phone is the browser, and everything is an AJAX widget app.

Replete with juicy Steve Jobs quotes, Taiwanese manufacturer tidbits, anonymous competitor quotes, and the impeccability of Jobs’ timing and taste.
Former AT&T CEO Ed Whitacre is retired; he’s been replaced by understudy and former COO Randall Stephenson. They look eerily similar, which makes me wonder if Randall earned the office with name repetition, personality mirroring and positive reinforcement through nods and smiles. Okay I’m kidding, he probably earned it with real qualifications or something.
Daniel Eran of Roughly Drafted recently penned a great analysis article covering the iPhone. As is usual for his posts, he covers many topics — how the 1% of the mobile market is 15% of the smartphone market, Apple vs. Microsoft, Lance Davis the Apple Doubter at the Register, and more.
Apple has posted three new ads for the Apple iPhone on their website. The ads showcase new music and generally highlight functionality already seen, though the third ad, Calamari, does showcase a little of the extra work Apple has done with the iPhone version of Google Maps.
The ads indicate that the iPhone will be available June 29th. Mark your calendars!
