Apple Posts Three New TV Ads that Feature Self Promoting iPhone Users
What do an Airline pilot, Ballet dancer, and Broadway Theater producer all have in common? They all use iPhones and appear in Apple latest iPhone whoring ad campaign. But the tables are turned as the subjects plug their own ventures rather than focus soley on iPhone and how it impacst their lives. A commercial within a commercial?
Kristin Sloan, the sole female user in this trio, is the editor and founder of TheWinger.com – a site devoted to ballet dancing. Several seconds into the commercial she drops off the subject of iPhone and immediately draws attention to her site. Nice touch, very subtle. I thought this was a commercial promoting iPhone, not ballet dancing?
The third spot features Broadway producer Ken Davenport, who pimps his new play “My First Time”, and mentions a fansite which we’re obviously meant to visit. Out of the three the Airline pilot came off most convincing, with his casual flair and real-world usage scenario.

Yikes. (Looking around considering unsubscribing to the feed.) What’s with the hate? I’m reading it trying to figure what the point is… that image seemed to suggest I’d be reading something somewhat funny.

No… it just doesn’t make any sense. On the winger website Kristen posted about her trip to film the commercial, and how people hadn’t known where she’d gone. Friends were congratulating her and all. Post is gone now apparently, but welcome to the world of being human. Where real people (and not just movie stars and recording artists) actually do things outside of a commercial promo, and have a life (and get to talk about it). Remember that nice series of commercials from HP. There was one that featured Jay-Z? The whole series had people self-promoting. Oh, no! the ballet girl says that she takes pictures from backstage and then post them to her site using her iphone. can someone explain to me how that is even possible?!?!
my iphone can: -take a photo -email it as an attachment (1 at a time)
my iphone can’t: -upload a photo saved on my phone to my website!
to post an image to a website you need to be able to upload it from your hard drive. correct?
as far as i know, that’s not possible with current iphones.
am i confused or is apple “stretching the truth”.
