About the iPhone Blog (TiPb)
The iPhone Blog merged with the Phone different site in May of 2008. Both sites were founded on a premise that comes from one of Apple’s old slogans: Think different. The iPhone Blog: for people who dare to phone different.
The iPhone Blog features the latest iPhone news, reviews of software and accessories, an iPhone-focused podcast, and excellent forums for discussing all things iPhone. You can also follow TiPb (as the cool people know us) on Twitter.
The iPhone Blog Team
Rene Ritchie, Editor

Rene Ritchie is Community Editor for the iPhone blog. He likes to draw, to design, to write, and to grapple. Not often in that order. His first computer was an Apple II, his first smartphone was a Treo 600, and his first foray online was as a moderator on Compuserve during the launch of Windows 95. He’s written three books [so far!] and numerous articles. He’s currently married to web, GUI, and graphic design at a database development company in Montreal, but philanders daily. Here. For you. Follow him on the Twitter @reneritchie or contact him via rene (at) theiphoneblog (dot) com.
Dieter Bohn, Editor-in-Chief, SPE

Dieter Bohn is the the Editor-in-Chief and VP of Communities for Smartphone Experts, overseeing smartphone communities at SPE sites such as AndroidCentral.com (for Google’s Android), WMExperts.com (for Windows Mobile), TreoCentral.com (for Palm Treos and Centros), and CrackBerry.com (for Blackberrys).
For the iPhone Blog, Dieter contributes TiPb of the Iceberg, a bi-weekly analysis of the iPhone and industry, and also co-hosts the Phone different Podcast with Mike Overbo.
You can find more about Dieter via ‘the Google.’ Hint: he’s also known on Twitter (and elsewhere) as ‘backlon.’

Brian Hart, Writer

Brian Hart hails from Utah and is an admitted gadget freak. He owns an iPhone, Treo 750, Centro, Tilt, has a 650 in a drawer somewhere, and can’t part with a dead Palm Vx.
During the day, he is a mild-mannered corporate attorney. By night, he puts on a mask and cape and sits at his Mac writing for TiPB! He’s married with three kids and two cats. When he isn’t lawyering or writing, he’s spending time with his family. He also enjoys reading, playing basketball, riding his Victory motorcycle or KTM dirt bike, or looking for new gadgets!
He was recently quoted as saying: “Writing for TiPB is a dream come true. If it wasn’t for Dieter, my editor, and Steve Jobs, who gave us the iPhone, I would be playing a ukulele and singing off-key for money on a downtown street-corner.”
Brian contributes articles, reviews, and the Tip o’ the Week column. If you have a tip you would like to see featured on Tip o’ the Week, please email Brian at brian.hart@theiphoneblog.com.

Chad Garrett, Writer

Chad Garrett is passionate about Apple and mobile technology. Being a strong proponent of Palm, Inc. for many years, he threw in the towel and went for a complete Apple makeover. Chad now uses a PowerBook G4 and a 24” 3.06 GHz iMac. Recently he acquired an Apple TV and Airport Extreme. He is still trying to convince his wife to ditch cable.
Chad has blogged personally since 2002 and has enjoyed writing for The iPhone Blog since March of 2008.
Chad is a trainer for a local Children’s Hospital and trains surgeons and staff on operating room software. He lives in the suburban Midwest with his wife and daughter.
Casey Chan, Writer

As a recent graduate from the University of California, Santa Barbara I’ve learned that the world is cyclical, fluids after a long night are great, and that I’m still not entirely sure how to use commas, semicolons, and dashes—so, I use all of them; sometimes wrong.
I’m now a writer based out of Los Angeles, California. I am one of the biggest sports fan alive and stay current with all the major sports and revolve my life around the Raiders, Dodgers, and Sixers. But fear not, horse racing and dog competitions are not beneath me.
I ‘switched’ over to Mac some 5 plus years ago because well, it looked damn cool. I stayed because well, it was damn good. Initially I had reservations about the iPhone, in part because of the horrible mock-ups and well, my old self was satisfied with a phone that just made calls. But of course that only lasted until I saw the thing.
In all, I want to stay young both in years and in nature. My 3-year-old niece works the iPhone beautifully. I want to be as good and as cool as her.
Life is Great. I never forget that.

Jeremy Sikora, Writer and Super Moderator

Jeremy Sikora hails from the “Windy City”, Chicago, IL. His passion for gadgets landed him here on TiPb. When it comes to his gadgets, he shows nothing but equality. His current collection of phone’s consist of a iPhone 3G, HTC Touch, and a recently acquired Palm Treo Pro.
Jeremy has moved up in the ranks here on TiPb, landing his first blogging gig from his supreme moderating skills on the forums. His online persona, Bad Ash, is the heart and soul of the forums here, helping everyone he possibly can. Just goes to show how keen of an eye for talent Dieter really has!
When he is not blogging or moderating it usually means he is with his beautiful girlfriend, Maria, or working his day job for the “family business”. Other passions in his life are movies — some Evil Dead anyone? — music, snowboarding in Vail Colorado, and fast cars.
