I am sure that someone will create a Tasks application. It is fairly simple, would be a great starter project, and with ActiveSync, would be easy to facilitate. It would be trivial for Apple to write a Task app. Seriously, you could write a Task app with really just a small file and a listing interface. Surely, Apple will do that, and stick it into iPhone 2.0.

The thing I wonder is: Say I wrote a Tasks app, and I wanted to give it to the community. Would I be able to? It seems like Apple is now in the application pimping business; will they let me give it away, or would they want their cut?

Plus, I hate to pay $99 to release a freeware app. Oh, well, I guess these questions will be answered in June.
