They see the web uptake of the iPhone and they support the heck out of it to connect with all the higher end users while simultaneous prepping Android to swoop in and try and take the commodity market (which should all pretty much be smartphones of various input-ability very shortly anyway). They get top-tier designer chic with Apple (on whose board Google&#039;s CEO sits), and down home folksy low-end spread as well.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;With their hopes that local search will be an unprecedented goldmine, and the possibility to start using the net cloud to harvest data as well as supply it, scale not only provides economy but leverage.&lt;/p&gt;
