Steve Jobs is Going to be Okay says Steve Jobs
A reporter over at one of those reputable, printing companies recently received a phone call from Steve Jobs and this was his opening line:
“This is Steve Jobs,” he began. “You think I’m an arrogant [expletive] who thinks he’s above the law, and I think you’re a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong.”You gotta hand it to him, even if he is feeling a little down, Steve will still serve you a new one if he wants to. But there has been a lot of speculation lately on what’s affecting Steve Jobs’ health and it’s making investors worried.
The whole conversation with Steve Jobs was off the record so we still don’t know the nitty gritty details but according to the New York Times, it’s more than just a common bug but isn’t life threatening and it’s not cancer.
Some think his health should be a private matter, which makes sense because we should all have some level of privacy. Some think his health should be public knowledge if it is serious enough, which also makes sense because of Steve Jobs unique role in Apple and Apple being a public company.
We at TiPb just want him to get better and hopefully the rest will handle itself.
What do you think?

By choosing to be the leader of a public company, Steve Jobs has chosen to be a public person and has the absolute responsibility to inform his shareholders of the status of his health. If he chooses to keep his health issues private, he should step aside.

Stress really does age a person and im sure he has more than enough on his plate. I really hope that its nothing but speculation, and that he is in good health.

Shareholders own stock in Apple, they don’t own Steve Jobs. It’s amazing how the entitlement generation demands their “rights” almost as fervently as they ignore — and trample — the rights of others.
If at any time Jobs’ health — or any other factor — will have material effect on his ability to function as CEO of Apple, then it seems to be a requirement to disclose. Otherwise, he has a right to his privacy, including health, family, and frequency of bowl movements.
Boy do investors need a reality check almost as badly as the stock market needs some semblance of sanity. Palm and Yahoo! are disgusting enough. Does Apple really need that kind of lunacy?

@Rene Ritchie…
I agree 100%. Well said!

Rene, you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. On one side, you believe Steve’s health is a personal and private matter. On the other side, you advocate that if his health issue is serious enough, then Apple should make a full disclosure. So Job’s health is a private concern, but not when it may affect his ability to lead the company. Who should be the person to draw that line? I certainly don’t think anyone at Apple is right for that job.
The fact is, Steve’s influence to Apple, both real and perceived, is grossly more significant than most public companies out there. And at a time when Steve seem to be 10-15 pounds lighter every time he makes a public appearance, you bet the investors get worried and want Apple to address this obvious issue.
It is not a matter of entitlement, it really is a “right” that the investors deserves to be informed about signigicant issues that affect the stocks they invest in.

Jobs have been looking frail and skinny lately. I hope he’s fine, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was “sick”.
