iPhone 3G Unlocked? Yessim!
Hmm. YESSIM has claimed that they can unlock iPhone 3Gs using a YESSIM SIM card for all the unlocking purposes. They have video-proof complete with convoluted instructions and a dodgy FAQ on their website. The Sim Unlock was developed in Europe and requires a jailbroken iPhone 3G. Are we taking this with an ordinary grain of salt or a Mt. Everest sized one?
What raises TiPb’s eyebrow is the fact that their website has common spelling and grammatical errors. Plus it seems like they’re pimping their product more than showing the process. But hardware Sim Unlocks do seem to be from foreign countries and use some mysterious, voodoo magic to unlock the iPhone. So I guess if they’re right, we can forgive them for everything.
What do you think? Is this legit? Or should we wait until a non-SIM Unlock method?

I met with the guys from Yessim in Montreal and they claim that they CAN unlock my iPhone3G. First they will jailbreak my phone and then implement Yessim! only for 50$, looks amazing but I’m still thinking what to do.

I have just ordered one, so will let you know if it turns up and/or works. iPhoneStealth is offering a similar SIM solution, but for $100 - except their PayPal plug in doesn’t seem to be working (suspicious?)

I ordered 5x Yessim and they’ve been delivered, unfortunately I’m away from home.
I will get to try on Monday whether it works for using a T-Mobile UK SIM in an AT&T US locked iPhone 3G.

I have tried a few different cards to unlock iPhone 3G. Actually Yessim was the most expensive of them but is not working very stable on my iPhone 3G 8GB. I recommand to buy Universal Sim, this worked much better on my iPhone. Not sure where to get it, i got mine from a friend in HongKong.
