Steve Jobs on MobileMe: Full Email

MobileMe: Apple Apologizes Again

Ars Technica’s crack ninja infiltration squad somehow snuck into the Jobspod and snatched up a copy of the full email his Steveness sent out to Apple last night.

Head on over to read the full text, meanwhile we’ll just note the concluding paragraph:

The MobileMe launch clearly demonstrates that we have more to learn about Internet services. And learn we will. The vision of MobileMe is both exciting and ambitious, and we will press on to make it a service we are all proud of by the end of this year.

That’s not a timeline that makes us happy, but the fact that it’s at least a bit more realistic does inspire some confidence.

At least Steve acknowledged the shortcomings of the service. That’s more than can be said for most CEOs, and it really speaks to Apples continuing drive to create better products. I think that in time we’ll all be able to put the MobileMe fiasco behind us, and I bet that Apples renewed efforts will create a superior product.

Darn, the title fooled me — When I read “Full Email”, I thought MobileMe might be FULLY working. My bad. I will be patient with Mr. Jobs.

Who cares about. Mobile Me anymore…?

So far, so good. My install went smooth and took about 2 hours with not much babysitting. I have noticed increased speed for contacts and it looks like the switch from home screen to home screen got juiced a little too.

Any news on actual app changes with this?
