i live in san francisco. the supposed hub of technological advancement. well, at least we're close to silicon valley. anyway, my phone drops a call 5-6 times in a 10 min cab ride from work to home. mind you, i am just going from one part of the city to another. no tunnels. no reason to drop. it's pathetic. my 7 yr old sony ericcson which ran on the "old network" never dropped calls. this is an iPHONE right? cause if it is, i got iSHAFTED.

What a rollercoaster ride this is.
I live in CT, where my 3G works in places where I can get the signal. After being convinced by a friend, I upgraded to 2.0.2 on Fri. after work. Sat. me and some friends decided to visit Boston for the day.
So we're sitting outside at a restaurant directly across teh street from Red Sox stadium. I look at my phone and I have FULL bars and the big 3G symbol showing. I'm thinking, "sweet! I'll take some photos and upload them to Facebook. Well, to my surprise, I can't connect to anything, facebook, email, webpages in mobile Safari. And this is with full bars and 3G. I rebooted my iPhone and same problem. So I turn of 3G and behold, I'm able to connect to the web.
What a cluster%uck all this is turning into.
Now that I'm back home in CT, I'm able to connect to the web with 3G service.
This sucks because you don't know who to blame? Apple for rushing the Infinion chip, or AT&T's network. But other countries 3G networks are reporting similar probs.
Who knows, just SOMEBODY come up with a fix soon!

Maybe the older firmware is causing iPhones to overburden AT&T's network and everyone is really anxious to put that to an end.

I also got a text message from Apple/AT&T this morning notifying me the update was available. Maybe there is something more important in the update than we think. Maybe a security flaw that has not yet been made public?
