I have a 2g that has been unlocked and jailbroken using ziphone. I want to update to the new software since i am still on 1.1.4. Who can I use to do this and will it erase any of my info?

updated my iphone to 2.1 last night after my phone bricked, used pawn to unlock, activate and jailbreak my baby. did this using windows, why is veryone having such a hard tme with unlocking 2.1 i found it very easy woop woop

HELP – My son uploaded 2.1 firmware on an unlocked 2G and now he has a brick – running on Win XP? Any help on how to unlock it again or downgrade the firmware? it was running good on 1.4.1

No Jailbreaking is to allow 3rd party apps witch are often cracked such as IPA from app store Payload apps which you can SSH into your phone which the youtube videos on how to iphone or ipodtouch. Unlock your phone will allow you to use any sim card or pre payed sim cards if travel to other countries. Also i have the 3G but Dev team has not been able to unlock at this point. I jailbroke my ipod touch last night with the new Pwnage2.1 firmware i haven’t yet because i am holding out for the Unlock . Also Hector there might be an error if you are using a mac after i put my touch into Dfu mode and it said successful entered DFU mode ,then i tunes popped up saying error with a red warning sign. what i did was take out the USB chord and held down the home button and re-connected the cord and then into went into the restore mode which will say Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode you must restore . so after that i went in fine . Also do you have a Mac to do your jail break?

Is unlocking and jailbreaking the same thing? Cause I tried to jailbreak my iPhone 3g and didn’t work!

I have a Question ,i am currently running 2.0.2 firmware on a jailbroken 3G thanks for the awesome Dev team . I just saw the release of the new 2.1 itunes 8 version update i jail-broke my phone a few times this has been 3 rd time and now it runs great rarely in lags . Maybe because all of my 3rd Party apps went in through SSH and i took of winterboard because that really slows up the phone. Only thing that is slow is my sync back up takes a while . Do you recommend the new 2.1 jailbreak or should i wait till the kinks iron out. I am really waiting for the Dev team to come through with the Un-lock of the 3G i guess that’s why i am holding back . Please give me some advice Thanks

@Chris, if you’d like more information please check out our Jailbreak section of the forums. You can find lots of valuable information. Current state of software unlock? Wouldn’t we all like to know… Nobody knows that but the Dev Team. Who are the only people I’d trust anyways.
