Facebook 2.0 Hits iPhone App Store
Last month, Dieter let us know that Facebook’s popular, but feature-thin App Store application would be getting an update to (hopefully!) bring it up to par with the older WebApp version accessible via MobileSafari browsing. The due date was September, and boy did they just manage to sneak it in under the wire! Check out the iTunes App Store for Facebook 2.0 (still free!).
So what’s in the Facebook 2.0 update?

I just fooled around with it last night and this morning, and I think it’s much improved!

I like it so far. I noticed it at 4:30 this morning –
I’m glad they added all those features in.

it’s nicer but there’s still plenty it doesn’t do, like manage/view groups (or any other “facebook application”, but that’s understandable except for the default ones)

i’m italian….i think that its not better cause if you go to friends it doesn’t charge yours, enfact you have go on the search bar and write the name oor just the letter… for other new things its really better also the horizontally scorring its really useful….i think its really better then the old version or the web

It broke my Friends! Really, the Friends tab shows me nothing but blank lines and the generic silhouette which will crash the app if tapped.
I can get to my fiends’ profiles through their updates, but not through the list of them.
Strangely enough, it’s the right number of blank lines for the friends I no longer see. i.e, 5 “A”s, 10 “B”s, etc.
Bug has been reported but I haven’t heard anything from them yet.
Very odd.

Much better now. Finally erased the web app off my phone.

I like the new version however it still needs minor tweaks. And it crashed right after installing it last night. It hasn’t happen since and I’ve been testing it out all day.

Works a lot better than previous versions, but when I get a friend request and I try to decline it it just stays in the que as if I never declined or dismissed it.

So many more features! But one that I still will go to the web app for is the events screen.

They need to sort out the way messages appear in the inbox. Having you start at the beginning of the conversation, rather than with the end of it, is very annoying for any lengthy conversations. As a result I’m sticking with the web browser version that at least starts me at the end so I don’t have to scroll for 2 minutes. Rest of the functionality seems pretty nice though.

Having issues… Get blank pages with lines on them after using it for a few minutes. Old version was stable.
