I’d rather a spare 3g being there’s no lost/stolen insurance and I live in an urban area

You could always give it to a spouse, child, etc. Called the gift of giving. Or you could be cool and just duel-wield phones. A blackberry and an iphone/ipod touch would a be a good combo.

This would be sweet since my work is willing to pay the data portion but not the phone cost. They are willing to provide an 8125 though (unspeakably awful).
