Merry iPod touch Xmas for App Sales

Macrumors is reporting that the large numbers of iPod touch mobile devices received this Xmas has created a mini boom for the App Store, with an average tripling or quadrupling of downloads post Dec. 25th, even on titles outside the Top 100 spotlight.
Browser share for the iPod touch likewise spiked on Xmas morning.

i bought my 2g itouch the day it came out but i did get alot of itunes money! i bought flick fishing dr awsome spore touch physics iphysics scoops and touch grind

I already had an iPhone 3G, but I did get a couple of iTunes gift cards, which I spent entirely on iPhone Apps (Rolando, SimCity, and Tweetie, among others). I suspect a lot of other iPhone and iPod Touch owners who recieved gift cards did the same, and that contributed to the spike as well.

I receive iTunes card and I bought gears of war 2 for my iPhone 3g hot app to have go get I recommend it.

these apps are mostly stupid games for morons or they are memory hogs slowing down the touch speed.

The iPhone/iPod Touch ecology will dominate like dinosaurs and deciduous plants did over amphibians and ferns. We just got two Nintendo DS’s and had a chance to compare to the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 1G, and it’s a tie only because Nintendo has been at it longer and has longer, deeper games.
