I’ve spent 2 days searching cydia for clippy and cannot find it. Any help? this has never happened…is it gone or is it me?

Here's the answer.

The buttons that use to appear above the numbers are gone in this new version. Instead, hold the 123 button to bring up an option menu.

Selecting COPY activated the magnify-and-drag option.

I like this much better.

I had this, worked brilliant, then suddenly it doesnt show up at all, i reinstalled but nothing :/..

the fetaure has vanished, but i can still select text D:

@Sightez First I'll say that I use both solutions, so my opinion came from using both, not just one. I'll also say that changing keyboards is easy: Settings > General > Keyboards. If that's too complicated, then wow.

And maybe you should define "a lot of things," because after using both, I can describe Clippy as requiring you to 'do a lot of things'. Here's how: 1) This is the Clippy process of using the clipboard: tap "123," tap "stack," select the item I want pasted, close the popup, tap "123" to get back to keyboard. This is the hClipboard process: Tap the globe, tap the item, tap the globe again. That's 5 steps vs. 3. For someone who uses the clipboard a lot (emails, usernames, sms templates, etc.), it makes a big difference.

2) If I wanted to select a few paragraphs with Clippy, I would have to drag across many lines of text, and at the end make sure i stopped at the very right spot. It also doesn't always want to select, it takes a few tries sometimes. Very time consuming. hClipboard can copy several paragraphs in 3 taps, and doesn't require great accuracy (only have to tap beginning and end of paragraph.

3) Selecting specific text within Safari text fields (not address bar/search bar) can't be done with Clippy. As I type this I'm trying to select one word/sentence from what I'm typing in this reply box but I can't. Try it below, you won't be able to. This applies to bookmarklet solutions as well, because bookmarklets turn the text into a safari input field, so you have to copy the whole thing. hClipboard can select specific items in text fields.

There are a few more gripes I have with Clippy, but that's beside the point. Clippy to me makes you 'do more things' and is not better, in my opinion. Although the one nice thing I like about Clippy(the only reason I keep it) is because I can delete a whole paragraph quickly after selecting it.

This is my take on the 2 solutions, and I'm hoping the issues can be fixed at one point since it's still in beta.

Rey, no its not better clippy is very(highly) simple, hClipboard need you to change keyboard and do a lot of things.

Hi Radfahrer and Justin, He actually put in his post that he selected the alternate keyboard (123) and didn’t see anything. Justin, are you using Intelliscreen? If so, you need to go to “Performance” and and turn “Clippy” to on. Then click save, then apply. You should now be good to go.

Hi Justin,

I've had the same problem... until I realized that you have to select, then tap the "123" key. Voilá! the magic keys appear.
