Anyone see this on the Apple website?
March 17th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
I don’t see anything here that can’t be accomplished right now by jailbreaking… what a letdown.
March 17th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
What about rSAP (sharing your contacts over bluetooth to your car etc) support?
March 17th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
These were some of my requrests ! Note Sync, Auto-fill, YouTube accounts, stereo Bluetooth! I hopebetween now and june they still tweek some of the other apps.
March 17th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
what happened to the new springboard/home page?
March 17th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
Voice dialing? With so many places cracking down on cell phone use in cars, where’s the voice dialing? (Or did I miss something?)
March 17th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
I still want a Finder ><. Maybe it will be in 3.1 ^^
March 17th, 2009 at 2:34 pm
i gotta be honest folks… where’s the enhancement to the UI? i’m kinda sad here..
March 17th, 2009 at 2:58 pm
Does call log mean deleting individual calls? Yay

Any word on hardware updates to the Iphone 3G
March 17th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Overall I am very happy. I would like to have seen video capture capabilities. I really do miss that feature on my Treo 650. I am not concerned at all about unified inbox for mail. I have always preferred to keep my multiple accounts separate.

Awesome post and great work on the liveblog. I agree with you, Bad Ash is buts, there will be new hardware in June.
(ps – in the excitement you decalred 17 Billion Fanboys vs 17 Million)

Why was anyone expecting push for GMail to me announced by apple?
Google can turn this on any time they want with no help from apple.
March 17th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Overall i’m pretty psyched, they didn’t leave out anything I was looking for except new hardware
@Dave there isn’t a jailbreak alternative for half of what was announced today. That said, I’ll prolly still jailbreak 3.0.
March 17th, 2009 at 5:33 pm
How is the original iPhone not mms capable? Is there not already a jailbroken app for this that DOES work on my iphone 2g. I have to say this is pretty depressing. I guess this means yet again apple has let me down. Hopefully jailbreak works on 3.0 I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

OMG, copy & paste! I never really cared personally about copy and paste but people have been asking for it for so long that I though I’d never see it. Being able to use the landscape in major apps (mainly SMS) has been what I’ve been hoping for. I was starting to think apple had stopped listening to its customers but I guess not. I’m happily surprised.
March 17th, 2009 at 8:17 pm
Just be happy children, you don’t have to run out this June and buy a “third” generation Iphone!
March 17th, 2009 at 8:42 pm
Only apple could have people so excited they finally got copy and paste which has been elsewhere for some time…. Overall I’m happy with the improvements but I wanted wifi syncing, category/folder app sorting, and backgrounding too. Ah well.
March 17th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
@Kael – My friend said the same thing. I told him that it’ not so much about having the feature copy and paste but it’s the ability and how apple figured it out. All the other phones uses menus but their way stuck to using the touch interface. It’s definitely something to give notice to. Also, it’s very simple !

Does anyone know if 3.0 will allow you to view Outlook meeting invites in the Mail.app? And if you can add it to the iphone calendar?
March 17th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Does landscape keyboard for major apps mean for text messaging??
March 17th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
we also didn’t get flash
March 17th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
I wouldn’t want a Unified inbox, another reason i hate blackberry.
flash would have been nice, but the opening up to third party may bring in some sort of flash viewer externally from the browser.
March 18th, 2009 at 12:57 am
Does that mean landscape view will be implemented in the Calendar app? I REALLY want to be able to view my calendar week-by-week, and landscape view seems most apt to deliver this. Any word on that?
March 18th, 2009 at 7:59 am
@Josh we will be able to view and i believe accept/decline .ics invites.
March 18th, 2009 at 12:17 pm
LOL Apples, so glad I’m sold this trash and got a Bold. Inboxes can be split, and the Storm has full touch copy and paste. I still see red apples falling.
March 18th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Wow – looks like the iPhone will finally catch up with base features of a 7000 series Blackberry. Rejoice, fanboys! Copy and paste! Revolutionary! Rock on, fellas!
March 27th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
I was wondering since apples able to add the landscape for the texting… maybe they can add the little vibrate motion when you use the keyboard. yeah?
May 1st, 2009 at 11:19 am
stereo Bluetooth is #1 to me. But I really need apps to run in the background. Like AIM, I’d like to stay signed in “forever”. Not paying the extra $20 for SMS when alreadying paying ! $30 for the data plan that should come with free SMS.
May 23rd, 2009 at 11:06 am
What about profiles? I need to auto silence the ringer!!!
August 6th, 2009 at 11:55 am
I want my phone to support more bluetooth devices. Like the motorola S9. And get the flash player that will work with safari, to watch movies. Wifi syncing with my itunes would take the wire away. There is a lot of stuff out there that years ago where introduced, and we still can’t do it on the iphone. Come on Apple wake up.
