Well.. I have a Touch HD and I love it, but he’s still probably right about WinMo. At least from a apps deployment point of view.

As a former WinMo user who recently switched to the iPhone, I completely agree with the assessment of Windows Mobile. It really does suck things that aren’t meant for polite conversation.

Why, because you decided to have kids should everyone else suffer. Be a responsible parent and make sure your kids don’t download explicit or tasteless content. Why would anyone buy a kid any kind of smart phone in the first place. Parents in this country are disgusting.

Yeah that guys a point if ur 7yr old has complete controll ovr his/her own iphone, nin lyrics shuld b the least of ur concern lol, a friggin 7yr old doesn’t have any business using a damn iphone anyways, what’s he gonna do? Check his stock profile? Or look at his cat scans? If u ask me, giving a 7 year old an iphone, the parent may need to b the one getting a cat scan. Reznor said it himself best, he’ll jus release it to the jailbreak community, which is fine, I have evrything from a hacked BB8330 to my hacked PSP-1000 so let’s c it happen yo.

Why are 7 year old kids using iPhones/iPods with an iTunes account without any parental observation downloading questionable material? Take a look at your kids stuff, it's actually yours! Don't blame the medium for a lack of parental diligence. iTunes is where the parental controls belong, imho.

And obviously for them to download that app it means that they have access to the internet (3G or WiFi). Safari on the "i" platform does not filter whatsoever and will provide you with a litany of profanity and pornography if you so desire.

What we should all be struggling to "get over" is the fact that Jailbreaking an iPhone may be the only way to truly get the experience that the device is capable of providing. Why allow a Microsoft-like draconian policy stand in the way of a true Smartphone experience?

Aren't there parental controls already to filter explicit content for music and videos so kids can't download those items? Why can't Apple tag apps that are explicit and apply that same filter to them?

Or maybe we should loby the feds to create MARS - "Mobile Application Rating System" to protect the children from naughty words. Games in the App Store appear to have ratings from the ESRB or at least age recommendations.

Apple is very clear on the policy - profanity is not allowed in their applications. At least not until they get parental controls, which allows us diligent parents for not allowing our 7 year olds to get content that is profane. Which also includes the grand theft auto, purchasing scarface and more.

So Apple messed up by not finding your lyrics before; who cares? They found it the second time and now you're pissed off. I understand, but the rules are pretty black and white about objectionable material. And, having been a long time listener of NIN, I would have to agree that a lot of the lyrics on The Downward Spiral are pretty nasty. I wouldn't want my 10 year old running around singing Closer, for example.

Get over it. Wait until 3.0, submit with a 17+ rating (or what ever is appropriate), and get over it.
