Carphone Warehouse Listing 16GB, 32GB Next Gen iPhones?

carphone warehouse listings

Apple Insider, citing “sources” reveals that:

Carphone Warehouse, the largest independent European mobile phone retailer and an official iPhone reseller, added four placeholders to their inventory list for new iPhone models earlier today

Whether they officially know something we civilians do not, or they’re just getting assuming the same thing everyone else in the iVerse is — that Apple will announce next generation iPhones during the WWDC 2009 Keynote this Monday — remains unclear, but word is they’ve pushed back their next marketing efforts to July 7…

@Tee I don’t actually think it will be called V3 – it’s too similar to 3G.. But these are great news! Maybe I’m going to stand in line for the next iteration of the iPhone within a month.. Exciting!

Its too similar to some old Razr.

There was a long thread on possible names, so far back now I can’t find it.

Some sites hint at a Year in the name, like iPhone 2009, but that is always a BAD IDEA(tm) if you ask me.

Mark III would be cute, But Apple has never been big on adding generation indicators to names.

So I’m guessing some “single word descriptive” that alludes to new capabilities centered around the Real-Time aspects of Notifications, background tasks, etc.

I doubt after stonewalling MMS and Video for two years that they will come out with those features being a naming hook, like iPhone Multimedia edition. That would take brass ones. Oh, wait….

I have a question please someone answer. I have had an iPhone 3g for 4 month I really won’t a 3rd gen 1 when it comes does anyone no if I will be able to upgrade to a 32gb. That’s what happens last year with o2. Thank anyone who answers

Here’s hoping the new versions can be bought sans-contract! (Doubtful, though, I know)

  9. sting7k Says:

Name will be simply “iPhone”. The 3G moniker is just to enlighten the mass public that doesn’t know what “3G” means. Look at the back of your iPhone 3G, no mention of 3G there; they will drop it.

And I guess it’s safe to say there will be a 32GB model.

How about this “sighting” of the new iPhone

sigh retracted, it would seem to be a rendered version…

Never the less 3G was on every piece of Apple advertising, including the Box it came in. I don’t see how you can dismiss that.

Macbook, Macpook Pro, Macbook Air… The precedence is already been set.

How can you honestly tell by the font that this is a picture of a carphone warehouse screen. It could be an amstrad for all you can see.

  14. BBYM Says:

%50 of Carphone warehouse is owned by best buy. This is smilar to earlier post bby Charlie projects. Today we had training with our AT&T rep and confirmed new iphohone as well as verizon will be getting the iPhone and china with CDMA. He couldn’t go in the details. Also new iphone will be announced at WWDC. :)

  16. Chobbs Says:

just saw an article on 9to5mac.com that says the new phone will be called IPhone Video. I know it’s kinda boring but it is clear and differentiates this phone perfectly. sounds very corporate to me.

that iPhone picture on the concret is obviously fake. Even if no one pointed out I knew that it was.

The screen is too big to be the same resolution as the curret iPhone. That looks like it would be an ” iPhone HD “. The lower left hand corner isn’t shaped like the other three sides. The phone it self is too long. The home button looks like something other companies would make ( Samsung ). The glare looks really fake , like some thing from a video game. And lastly , the back of the phone looks too flat.

  20. OmariJames Says:

The V3 lable is probably showing that the phone does not have any distinctive name. I think they will call the new iPhone ” iPhone ” again. Then maybe when they add another feature on the next model , OLED or HD for example , they will add another suitable suffix.

Speaking of HD. HD content can take up a lot of space on a flash drive. I dont think they will only have a 32GB iPhone option made for HD. They’ll have 64GB as well, when becomes cheaper.

    They might not continue in a ” 1,1; 1,2 ; 2,1 ; 2,2 ” order and go right to 3,1 on the following 2010 model.

All I want is a 32GB for 299 because I’m running out of space. I have tons of movies on my external HDD and a 15GB music library.

Yes will on new iPhone 32GB on Monday!!! Tell me….!
