Google Intros New iGoogle WebApp for iPhone
Once upon a time, Google had an iPhone optimized version iGoogle. Then Christina Warren from Download Squad caught them in the act of taking it away. Now, our sibling-site Android Central tells us it’s returned. Confusing saga, good update:
Today, we’re excited to roll out an improved beta version of iGoogle for the iPhone and Android-powered devices. This new version is faster and easier to use. It supports tabs as well as more of your favorite gadgets, including those built by third-party developers. Note that not all gadgets — like those with Flash — will work in mobile browsers.
Are you an iGoogle user? If not, is this enough to interest you? Either way, if you check it out, let us know what you think!

to me I see no point on using this program. it lacks way too many featchers. Google has to come up with a way to integrate their services in a single app without having to open safari

I think it’s pretty nice for the people who consistently use iGoogle, but I never really got into it. Sure you can add tons of stuff to your homepage if iGoogle is your browser’s start up, but I always thought that it just had a little too much on it for me. This goes hand in hand with my opinion about Google Wave which just looks like a huge clustermess of online info. I’m happy for the iGoogle lovers of the world, but this isn’t for me.

Latitude works. Kind of, I think. Testing now.

Latitude does not update from gps. But at least now you can update manually from the iPhone.

@Matt:
iPhone 3.0 Safari includes built-in GeoLocation, so that may let Latitude tap the GPS… at least that’s what we’ve heard.

I was pretty angry when they disabled iGoogle before. But its been a few months and I’ve moved on. I found an app, NetNewsWire, that would handle all of my feeds much better than iGoogle ever did. If this update would have been rolled out months ago instead of disabling the old version, I would be all over it. Not, its too little too late.

Was that Napoleon Dynomite’s brother doing the voice over?? I kept waiting to him to say that La Fonda was still THE BEST THING That ever happens to him and was tweeting him now. However, iGoogle…. It’s alright. I’ll save my ink and right home about something else.

I don’t have the Home, Fun, News tabs. Also, I don’t have the Weather, Finance, Gmail, ToDo. I have Weather, then 5 Google Translates, and then various other options. Is anyone else experienceing this?
