I’ve had my Iphone 3GS 16GB for about 4 weeks. Today it doesn’t see my wireless router. Even though my other 3G iphone and 2 laptops do. Pretty pi%^ed off about it.

Hi. I’m having a similar problem. In my case, the wifi opiton in setting has been greyed out. When i checked the network option, it says NA. Any suggestions.

I belive the problems we are all having are heat related. Try this then post your results. Place your iphones on cloth covered ice pack to chill, say five minutes. then connect wifi. i believe you will find it will now connect. problem is the firmware upgrade has changed power and internal heat characteristic and causes this drop out. if im right we need a clever soul to tell us how to rectify.

I got my iPhone (3gs) yesterday (11/16/2009) and it keeps forgetting my home network’s wifi password. It is annoying and irritating to enter the 35-character password every time as there is no way to save it… I hate this feature…

I am getting the same problems, tried everything, wasted 5 hours on this and I got exams period now. Need my phone too though. I really would not buy or tell anyone to buy any apple products, these are really ****. I am tired and that’s it. Apple got my money and I lost my good old Nokia thing for this ****.

i have a iphone and even when im right next to the router the wifi disconects the reconects then it does the same problem over and over until a while later it just doesnt even show the router name at all!!! and im standing right next to it!!! my router is BelkinG+208122... help pls

I too am having this issue, starting today. Nothing has changed so can't figure why this suddenly happened. I have a 3G that's about 15 months old, all software is up to date. Network works fine for all our computers except for the 3G today. Now that I think of it, my husband's 3Gs was doing this earlier in the week, again, out of the blue.

So, why doesn't Apple have an answer for this if all of us have have this problem, and it appears to have started for some people in July?

Please help me…I don’t know what happened. My iphone 3G just suddenly won’t connect to the internet even if it recognizes my home wifi.(It used to work perfectly whever there’s wifi) I already brought it to Globe Telecom Center (official Philippine Iphone distributor), and it worked there just fine. I really am so frustrated, had the iphone for a year already, and I don’t know if some kind of warranty covers it. I’ve tried everything there is over the web to solve it, still efforts aren’t solving it.

I started having problems after I upgraded to 3.1 or 3.1.2. iPhone 3G kept dropping my home network. All other devices are working fine. iPhone keeps prompting me for my password, then failing to connect.

When I removed the password (Netgear, WPA security), it would continuously connect and drop. I'd get an IP address for a few seconds, then it would disappear.

Bluetooth is working fine, and I can see my MAC address under network settings.

Have only noticed a problem on my home router (sitting right beside it). Will be trying on other public networks soon, but suspect it is the flaky signal strength problem.

Ever since I upgraded to 3.1.2 my iphone 3g will not detect wifi. I’ve tried resetting the settings on my iphone but nothing will work. It’s brand new there shouldn’t be any problems with the iphone’s hardware.
