The Bodyguardz Protective Skin for iPhone ($24.95) is a thin translucent film that offers full body protection and keeps your iPhone clean from the elements. Are the Bodyguardz the metaphorical clean-freak, plastic on sofa or do they actually enhance the iPhone experience?

Remember Nike+? It measured total distance, pace, calories burnt, and created goals to reach. Essentially, it was a personal trainer without the personal trainer. Up until now, the Nike+ was iPod nano exclusive, but according to Stuff.tv, Nike+ is coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Personally, I’ve never used Nike+ because of its iPod nano requirement and to a lesser extent, my allergic reaction to all things working out. But from what I’ve heard in reviews and from friends, Nike+ is a perfect addition to any workout and a great example of how technology can make our lives easier.
An iPhone specific version of Nike+ can add to the already successful product they have now. Stuff reports that the iPhone will wireless transfer the data onto your computer, no cords necessary. But I think Nike and Apple should take it a step further. The iPhone is powerful enough to manage everything Nike+ throws it way, so why not eliminate the computer from the equation?
With so many traffic laws being passed regulating cell phone usage in your car, a Bluetooth headset is on the top of every cell phone owner’s mind. The Plantronics Discovery 665 is targeted as the ideal solution for those road warriors who have frequent and lengthy phone calls while on the road so that they can keep their hands and attention on the wheel.
The Plantronics Discovery 665 Bluetooth Headset ($69.95) is a slick looking Bluetooth headset that uses AudioIQ technology to enhance performance. Does the technology translate to real life success? Could this be the Bluetooth headset for commuters around the world?

Wow. With so much 3G iPhone noise of late, there’s bound to be some truth right? Let’s refresh, we have 10 million new orders being picked up, shortages in the current generation, a CEO claiming that 3G is coming, and a supposed 3G iPhone in the wild. And to add to that pile of 3G whispers/leaks/reports/rumors/spyshots , we have Walt Mossberg (per AppleInsider), of infinite access and 10 lifetimes of tech wisdom, claiming that the 3G iPhone is coming soon. Real soon. As in 60 days soon.
And usually if Walt Mossberg reports it, my money is with him. But less than 60 days? Which would make the deadline…May 24th? That’s a pretty bold prediction considering it would fall right before WWDC (June 9-13), the 2.0 firmware update (Late June) and the iPhone’s first birthday (June 29). A 3G iPhone released pre-June would steal all the spotlight away from those events.
What do you guys think? Will the 3G iPhone be available before the June festivities or just merely announced? Has Ol’ Walt gone a little reckless in his old age? When will the 3G iPhone come out and what will YOU do with your current iPhone?
(Walt Mossberg drops his 3G bomb around the 6 minute 50 second mark)
The Seidio Inno Case for the iPhone ($32.95) is a very subtle case that manages to increase the functionality of the phone and enhance the user experience. The design is simple and understated and comes in colors such as blue, black, and burgundy. The case adds some flair but little to no bulk to your iPhone.

Not only did the iPhone serve RIM at the SDK event. But after Apple showcased the demos of Touch Fighter, Spore, and Super Monkey Ball on the iPhone, Nintendo and Sony better watch out as well. Game controls utilized the accelerometer and multi-touch while the graphics were displayed on that crystal clear screen–make no mistake–Apple is ready to revolutionize gaming.
With the early glimpses into the gaming capabilities of the iPhone, we’ve learned that:
- The possibilities are endless
- It looks really fun
- Apple has a potential gaming jackpot in their hands
If we have learned anything from the current console “war” between the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the Nintendo Wii—consumers are more interested in buying the “fun” games as opposed to those that are graphically superior. At its bare minimum, gaming on the iPhone can be likened to a ridiculously advanced wii-mote. At its maximum potential? Quite possibly the best mobile gaming experience ever.
Earlier today Chad asked about what your favorite gaming experiences on the iPhone might be. But how will Apple deal with the business side of it? How can the iPhone conquer gaming? Find out after the jump.
Wait…You mean it’s a phone, an internet portal, an iPod AND a gaming device? Apple is certainly following through with this one-gadget-to-rule-them-all motif. In fact, the game demos pretty much stole the show at the iPhone SDK Roadmap event.
Using the three-axis iPhone accelerometer, multi-touch, and pretty much everything else that the iPhone is capable of doing—portable gaming is officially on notice.
Touch Fighter, an in-house Apple creation, which is akin to Wing Commander, uses the iPhone’s intuitive movements for its controls. Tilt the screen to move the plane, tap the screen to fire the missiles. Who’s going to miss the stylus or speakerphone analog stick, after they get their hands on that?
However, the biggest revelation for iPhone gaming is the developers already on board. EA and Sega both demoed early productions of Spore and Super Monkey Ball. Spore for the iPhone is the full-fledged version complete with all 18 levels. Movement for both games is controlled again by tilting the iPhone.
We’re only beginning to scratch the surface for gaming on the iPhone—these games only show 2 weeks of development. If more developers jump on board, there is no telling how far and how fun gaming on the iPhone will be.
Yankees vs Red Sox. Coke vs Pepsi. Obama vs Hilary.
Apple vs RIM?
Are we walking down a path that will lead to a no-holds-barred smackdown between smartphone giant RIM and newcomer Apple? Chris Ullrich over at TUAW certainly thinks so. He recently pitted the iPhone against the Curve and comes away with a conclusion not so much different from our good friend Mike Overbo.
The iPhone and Blackberry have long been on a collision course since the iPhone’s inception. With Treos still stuck in the 1990’s and Windows Mobile’s, well, Window-ness, these two companies are destined to battle it now and for the rest of eternity.
So where do you place your bets? Apple, in all its gleam and glory or RIM, with its utilitarian approach? Or is there enough room for the two of them?
As the iPhone bandies around the world, many Wall Street analysts have been wondering when China Mobile would be invited to join the likes of O2, T-Mobile and Orange to the exclusive iPhone party.
Well, according to dBTechno, it might be sooner than we think.
As exciting as this news could be for Apple, what with 350 some odd million China Mobile customers helping reach Steve Jobs imposed 10 million iPhone goal, there are potential pitfalls that could stagnate the deal. For one, the price point might be out of reach for the average Chinese citizen who would have to make 2 month’s salary to even purchase an iPhone. And that’s not even counting foreign carrier’s exorbitant and limited data costs.
But with a reported 400,000 unlocked iPhones currently in use on China Mobile (not even counting all the knock-offs), there is undoubtedly a market for iPhones. And to imagine the possibilities of a real live, breathing, fingerprint free iPhone in the hands of 350 million ready-to-buy consumers has got to make Apple stockholders seeing green.
