I don’t know if you have tried this (I have), but if you attempt to sync your iPhone with any computer other than the one you originally synced with your iPhone, you will receive a warning that your iPhone is “synced with another iTunes library.” Your only choice at this point is to “Cancel” the operation or “Erase and Sync” because your iPhone can only be synced to one iTunes library at a time. Or CAN it?
Thanks to a set of most excellent instructions from the Shiny Things blog of Andrew Grant located here, you can sync your iPhone with one or more additional computers. Read on to learn more!
PdaNet has been hailed as the best reason to Jailbreak your iPhone. Why? Because it sets your iPhone up as a WiFi router that you can easily connect to with your laptop. This setup is ideal for a lot of users for a few reason:
- It’s dead-simple to set up, as it doesn’t require any weird software or modem configuration on your laptop
- Since the iPhone becomes a simple WiFi router, there are no blocked ports. Unlike NetShare, PdaNet is not a ‘SOCKS proxy,’ so you can use any internet protocol (like iChat or AIM) and not have to worry about whether or not it will work.
- Although you’d take a big old hit on speed, you could theoretically share your internet connection with several computers.
There is one major caveat you need to be aware of with PdaNet, however. The Terms of Service on the standard AT&T iPhone contract and also on their standard Data Plans do not allow you to tether. Most people simply ignore this and go ahead and tether anyway — being careful not to overdo it to prevent AT&T from hitting them with extra fees or even a cancellation. Okay, here’s how you can add extensions — or any form of extra digits — to a telephone number on your iPhone.
First, access your Contacts (either via the Phone App, or the dedicated Contact App in 2.x). Pick the Contact you want, and tap Edit in the top right corner. Next, pick the phone number you want to add the extension to, and then tap the +*# button on the bottom left of the Dial Pad.
As the button label implied, you can add the plus, star, or pound symbols. Tap Pause to add a comma (,) — or short, silent wait period. Add the numbers for the extension, then tap Save to apply the changes.
And we’re done! Have more Contacts you’d like to extend? Simply rinse and repeat as often as needed. Then get ready for the next Podcast, and let Dieter and Mike know how you really feel — fast!

Is there an iPhone-friendly version of the web apps section of Apple’s site? Seems odd to me that the iPhone maker has no such tailor-made service on its site. Or am I missing something? Maybe you could cover this on your blog for others, too, to know.

So you are having issues with your iPhone? Maybe you jailbroke it and things did not go as well as you planned?
