Last buy not least we have an oldie but a goodie, Super Monkey Ball is on sale for $3.99. [iTunes Link] That’s down $6 from it’s normal price! This game is simple, addictive, fun, frustrating, and well worth your $3.99.

Feeling a bit retro lately? Well look no further than these two great games from the 1980’s that are currently on sale in the App Store – Konami’s 1981 arcade hit Frogger and Namco’s 1982 arcade racer Pole Position.
Frogger is now on sale for $1.99. [iTunes Link]
The arcade hit is back and on your iPhone/iPod touch. Help Frogger cross the busy obstacles guiding him home. Jump past cars on the road and hitch a ride on logs and turtles while crossing the river. With news of TomTom hitting Apple’s App Store it’s time to start looking out for great deals from the other GPS apps currently available. Today we were notified that one of the most feature-filled GPS apps, Sygic Mobile Maps for the US is on sale for a limited time and it’s priced to sell – $39.99. [iTunes Link]
We’ve used Sygic Mobile Maps and it is well worth $39.99 if you are within the United States. The sale ends at the end of this month so be sure to act fast! It contains some very nice features with some of the highlights as followed:
- Voice guided turn-by-turn GPS navigation
- Rotation sensor for automatic switching between landscape/portrait operation in real-time
- Automatic return to the app and the route after a phone call
- All important safety features, including lane assistance, speed limit indication, safety cameras, information about railway crossings and dangerous areas
- Thousands of POIs; among others also a list of parking options nearby for you to select and be guided to
selection between car and bicycle modes for optimum route calculation
- All the maps will be stored on the device, there will be no need to download data on the go, which otherwise costs unnecessary waiting time and money

Apps for Less is Jeremy’s turf, but we just got a few extra, time-sensitive tips we wanted to share with you for the weekend, so please bear with my less than Bad Ash fill-in attempt.
First up is ConvertBot [iTunes link], which is now totally FREE for a limited time.
Next up, ID software has a sale going in honor of QuakeCon 2009, discounting Doom Resurrection [iTunes link] to $2.99 and Wolfenstein Classic [iTunes link] to $0.99 from now until Sunday. (Thanks Pete for the head’s up!)

Today’s first application happens to be one of my personal favorites – Pocket Tunes Radio. [iTunes Link] Not only does it have a ton of free internet radio stations you also get the ability to stream Sirius XM channels. And most of the channels that were omitted from the official Sirius XM application are actually available with Pocket Tunes Radio! Howard Stern anyone? Pocket Tunes Radio is now available for a limited time for $7.99 – $2 off it’s regular price.
Next up we have a pair of retro games many of you old school gamers should enjoy. Namco’s Galaga REMIX [iTunes Link] and Dig Dug REMIX [iTunes Link] are now on sale for $2.99 a piece! Namco has added a nice twist to two great classic games – the ability to play both the original arcade games and new remixed versions with new boss battles, power-up items, etc…
Last up for today we have another great iPhone game, ngmoco’s Star Defense [iTunes Link] has dropped permanently to a low $2.99! This is one game that has been covered here at TiPb more than once, so be sure to check it out.

It’s been a while since out last Apps for Less. It seems as if all the developers are working hard to put their final touches on updates for iPhone OS 3.0 rather than putting their application on sale. With that said, TiPb does have two applications that you may be very interested in picking up at lower prices.

In today’s Apps For Less we found a few very worthy deals that you should definitely take advantage of.
First up we have a gem of a game from Gameloft — you might have heard it? — Assassin’s Creed – Altaïr’s Chronicles [iTunes Link]. You should know that it is one to pick up, especially at it’s new low price of $5.99 (down from $9.99!) Not a bad deal at all.

Explosive missions make this game one of a kind with gameplay mixing shooting and riveting piloting assignments. Made for shoot’em up fans and casual players thanks to intuitive gameplay that makes it fun and within reach for everyone.
Last but not least we have an application that is actually not a game! The unit conversion app, Convertbot, [iTunes Link] is now on sale for a very limited time for the low price of $.99!
Convert currency, length, mass, time and much more in an exciting new way! Converting numbers will never again be a mundane task. In addition to its innovative interface, our robot is smart enough to convert to and from mixed units. Are you 5 foot 9 inches tall? Other converters require you to convert that to 5.75 ft in your head before being able to enter it. Convertbot allows mixed units like Foot + Inches, Pounds + Ounces, and more!

Ok, not many applications currently in the App Store worthy of our Apps for Less. Although, the ones we did end up finding are not bad deals.
First up we have Terminator Salvation [iTunes Link], if you have not checked out the trailer we post two weeks ago what are you waiting for? This is one of the top games in the App Store and it seems like Gameloft has gotten the hang of programming games for the iPhones hardware. The best thing about this game now is it’s price – it has dropped from $9.99 to $5.99. People complained about the higher price and Gameloft has listened. I feel bad for the early adapters as we always get the short end of the stick in terms of price but that’s to be expected.
Next up we have PCalc [iTunes Link], now on sale for $4.99 An excellent app for anyone who needs a feature-rich calculator that the stock app on the iPhone simply can not match. Features are as follows:
- Switchable button layouts – choose from many different horizontal and vertical layouts to suit your needs.
- Calculator themes – pick your look, all the way from minimalist to striking.
- An RPN mode with one button access to the stack and optional two-line display.
- Hexadecimal, octal and binary modes, complete with a variety of bitwise operators.
- All the extensive unit conversions and constants from the desktop PCalc.
- A simulated paper tape to keep track of your calculations.
- Multiple undo and redo. Just flick the LCD to the right and left to reveal the past and future.
- Stylish, consistent user interface.
- Shake to clear! Two shakes to clear, three shakes to clear all.

For those of you who are not familiar with our Apps for Less posts, they are simply a way for us to point out a few good applications in the App Store on sale or at a price that we feel is worth mentioning to our valued readers.
First up we have an Apps for Less favorite, BeejiveIM [iTunes Link]. This application has been spotlighted in Apps for Less 3 times with the price dropping as low as $9.99. We have some good news for you, BeejiveIM is once again on sale for the low price of $9.99. You may be thinking that the price is still too high but honestly, you will not find a better IM client on the App Store, plain and simple. So if you are looking for the best out there, this is the one for you.
Next up we have a good one for all of you Kung Fu + word game fans. WordFu [iTunes Link] is a dice-based word game that combines a Kung Fu theme with many elements of other popular word games. Your task is to assemble as many words from the given letters as possible. All in all it’s a fun game that is pretty simple to play and for the low price of $.99 can you really go wrong? Just keep in mind it is a limited time sale. The price will be increasing so grab it as soon as possible!
The last app we have for you today is a little game called Enigmo [iTunes Link]. Enigmo has been one of the most successful games within the App Store.
“Enigmo is the most unique game that you’ll find for the iPhone or iPod Touch. It is a 3D puzzle game where you manipulate slides, bumpers, and other pieces to control streams of flowing liquid. Liquids (water, oil, and lava) fall from “droppers” and will bounce around the walls of a puzzle. You move and rotate the various puzzle pieces in order to divert the flow of the falling droplets so that they can reach their target. The faster you complete each level, the more bonus you will receive.”
This is one great game with an even greater price. For a limited time you can now purchase this app for the cheap price of $.99! That’s $3.00 off the regular price so don’t delay!
