Today on the Forums: Mac/iPhone Integration, MobileMe Alternatives, and Other Gadgets

It’s been a while since our last Today on the Forums post, but hopefully today’s topics will make up for it.

Today on the forums we have some great ideas from Alienwhere, who would like to see some more integration with his iPhone and his Mac. I agree… Check out some of his ideas and add to them if you can.

Next up we have Reaktor5 who wants to know, do you feel inferior when a new Apple product comes out? Everyone who is in this game of electronic gadgets knows there is always something around the corner that will be better. That’s just the way it works. But do you care about the newer device?

How has MobileMe been treating you lately? Fed up to the point where you can not take it anymore? Well look no further than gymnofrool’s thread, MobileMe Alternatives. I recently made the switch to an Exchange account and it has been working perfectly for me. I’m actually getting all of my mail…

Lately there have been so many new devices being announced and released. Everyone here at TiPb is curious as to what you think about the latest and greatest. To comment about devices such as the Touch HD, Palm Treo Pro, Blackberry Storm, etc… head on into the Smartphone Different: Other Gadgets forum.

So what are you waiting for? To get in on the forum action be sure to register, only take a few minutes of your time!

iPhone App Avalanche 13: Crazy Pumpkin, iDayDream, i.TV and Babe-O-Meter!

It’s time for App Avalanche 13, and this week we’re taking a look at the Entertainment category in the App Store and at what’s Good, Better, Best, and, of course, the CrApp. There’s at least 26 (!) pages of Entertainment apps and counting. After exhaustive research by our highly-trained TiPb staff (please note: author taking massive liberties with the truth here; likely exaggerating), these apps have been hand-picked for YOU. Given that this is unlucky Avalanche 13, written on the 13th, I’m sure the author of the CrApp is feeling quite unlucky for being featured here!

I recently switched from MobileMe to a Exchange account and was personally interested in the following thread. Pascalcheck had a good question regarding Exchange with his contacts and calendar events. Rene was super quick to jump in and help out!.

iPhone App Avalanche 12: SpaceTime Converter, iSign, Elements: Flash Cards and aDriverTest!

It’s time for App Avalanche 12, and this week we’re taking a look at the Education category in the App Store and at what’s Good, Better, Best, and, of course, the CrApp. There’s an abundance of apps to choose from, and the Education category has pages and pages of good stuff (and some that isn’t so good). Here at TiPb, we’re all about culling through the mediocrity to see if we can deliver a few precious gems (and one piece of coal, of course!). Let’s get started after the break!

Today on the Forums: Forums New Look! Leaving the iPhone?

Today on the forums I wanted to point out our new setup. We have cleaned up the forums a bit and have made it even more friendly for everyone. Don’t trust me? Take a look for yourself! If you feel so inclined and want to see something added or removed, start your own thread and tell us!

A lot has been said about the iPhone and tethering, heck even Dieter just jailbroke his iPhone to try out a tethering app called PdaNet. Mugunth wants to know why AT&T won’t allow tethering and VOIP on the iPhone, chime in on the conversation right here.

Are you fed up so much with your iPhone or AT&T that you are considering getting rid of it and going back to your old phone? Well NMprofessional is seriously considering doing just that and for a few interesting reasons… Say it ain’t so, NMprofessional! Head on into the forums and try to change his mind!

Rene let slip that we’re going to have a great new contest coming to the TiPB iPhone Forums soon, so along with our fresh new look, it’s time to get some fresh faces in there as well! Signing up is simple, I’ll even get you started, head on over and I’ll see you on the forums!

iPhone App Avalanche 11: Thumbtacts, TapeMe, iExchange, and Aqua

It’s time for App Avalanche 11, and this week we’re shaking things up a bit over here at TiPb. Given the App Store is truly an avalanche of apps with more piling up each day, it’s just about impossible to keep up. Instead, we’ll present to you what’s Good, Better and Best in the App Store according to what reviewers have said — folks just like you and me who downloaded the app, tried it out, and gave it 1 to 5 stars. We’re also going to throw in a CrApp — an app that just seems to stink to high heaven. Let’s get started after the break! Read the rest of this entry »
