The folks at 101 Cookbooks have developed an iPhone-friendly versions of their website to better accommodate its native screen resolution (HVGA). Don’t ask me why they thought it necessary given that Safari already enables full web browsing, negating the need for such “mobile web” content. Buy hey, who am I to argue.

BarCamp, iPhone Developers Camp

The list of development projects for iPhone web apps is growing. BarCamp offers a retreat for developers who are devoted solely iPhone.

iPhone Developers Camp is an upcoming gathering, inspired by BarCamp, SuperHappyDevHouse, and MacHack, to develop web-based applications and optimize web sites for iPhone. It is a non-commercial event, organized by volunteers, with attendance free to all. By the completion of the weekend event, a number of iPhone-ready web applications and web sites will be launched to the public. The event will be held in California, and out-of-town guests are welcome.

iTweetr, It’s Twitter for your iPhone

Fifteen days to go before iPhone officially launches, and already web apps are popping up like ragweed in my backyard. This interesting concept is called iTweetr, which acts as a web-based Twitter client accessible through Safari. It works under Firefox too. iPhone Mobile Web App Demo, It’s Alive!

Some industrious haxor developer has created an interesting yet simple demo web application, highlighting what is possible via iPhone’s Safari browser. I still have very mixed feelings about this framework. Maybe I’ve been hanging around PDAs too long, but I prefer system-native applications as apposed to the Web 2.0 approach.
